Informations for painting a level for SpaceTaxi:
Format: IFF-ILBM 320x200 with 32 Colors.
Some colors (counted from 0 to 31) have the following meaning:
Col 0 : Background (usually black)
;could be changed
Col 1 : Foreground, Text (usually white)
;could be changed
Col 29: collision-colour
;could be changed
everything surrounded with this colour
makes the taxi explode (if touched)
The border should be of that colour to prevent from
leaving the screen
The taxi can fly through every other colour
[Colors for Sprite1:]
;should not be changed
Col 17: 0xfff
Col 18: 0x0af
Col 19: 0x169
COl 18 and Col 19 should not be used in the level, because
Sprite1 may change its colours in multiplayer-mode.
[Colors for Sprite2:]
;should not be changed
Col 21: 0xfff
Col 22: 0xf50
Col 23: 0xa00
[Colors for Sprite3:]
;should not be changed
Col 25: 0xfff
Col 26: 0xaf0
Col 27: 0x090
[Colors for the little men]
;could be changed
Col 1: (white)
Col 13: (dark) 0x198
Col 14: (medium) 0x1b8
Col 15: (light) 0x1e8
[Colors on (dis)appearing men (beam in and out)]
;could be changed
(range of grey from Col 6 (dark) to Col 12 (light))
0x566,0x677,0x777,0x788,0x899,0x9aa,0xabb
In the example-picture 'example.level.ilbm' the
above default-values are used. Every unused colour
is set to lilac.
The bottom of the example-pic shows the animation-frames
of the men and the taxi. This part does not belong to the
level and is only included to show the effect of colour-changes.
The width of a pad should be set to 40 Pixels. The height
and look can be changed.
Now to edit a new level it could be the easiest way
to load this example-pic and change the lilac colours,
move the pads and add any kind of traps and obstacles.
If some movements are planed or more than one picture
is necessary to explain an effect, then it could be put
together to an animation (DPaint.anim-format).
Or the movements and animations could be described
in an extra text-file along with the description of other
effects (switches, gravitations,...).
Send your own creations to me and I will try to include
them in the next release.
